Service Reliability & Automation Engineer (100% Remote)

Atrilogy's direct client is seeking a Service Reliability & Automation Engineer to join their team on a Direct Hire basis.  Although onsite in Las Vegas is preferred (relocation packages available) they will consider candidates on a 100% remote basis only if they are located in Texas.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary Essential Job Functions

Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) and Automation Engineer. This position will have centralized scope and accountability.
It will drive service improvements in function and efficiency, and reduction in error rate through automation of IT services delivered and/or executed by Production Management in support of consumer group customers worldwide.
The position is a senior technical role to help in the creation of ultra-scalable and extremely reliable software systems emphasizing the reliability factor in the product management lifecycle.
Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning. Key focus is automation.
The role requires clear understanding of SRE fundamentals, with an ability to communicate at a leadership level to senior executives, operational excellence mindset.
Responsible of IT Service Automation to reduce cost, reduce risk, improve efficiency, and enable Service Management to keep up ever increasing volume of with fast pace of newer technologies due to agile and Next Gen Architecture.
Drive development of automation strategy in line with corporate standards and tools.
Drive and implement rigorous quality standards for all aspects of the automation delivery from initial concept to final implementation.
Continually evolve the working practices within and services provided by Production Management to improve efficiency and productivity.
Continuous forward compatibility and acquisition of competency around automation, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics Process Automation, predictive analytics, etc.
Decision analytics and technology platforms to deliver immediate results and long-term business impact.
Develop predictive models that will form the basis of information-driven strategies executed with respect to services provided by Production Management.
Ability to conduct blameless problem management/postmortem phase of major incidents, develop executive briefings, assess major incident impacts, and drive service improvements to prevent repeat of an incident. 



Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
6 -10 years’ experience
Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills and relationship building skills
Service oriented attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience working or leading requirement gathering efforts for multiple large development projects at one-time
Proficient using basic technical tools and systems
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with one or more programming languages is a plus and willingness/ability to learn including Java, Shell, Python, or similar language
Understanding of Cloud concepts (Competent with APIs, Web Services, Angular and microservices) is a plus
Understanding of SRE topics like SLOs, Error Budgets, resiliency, auto-scaling, self-healing, performance, and more is a plus.
Understanding in Chaos Engineering implementation with knowledge in tools like tools Gremlin, Fault Injection Simulators & Chaos monkey is a plus.
Understanding with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift is a plus
