Linux Systems Administrator

Our direct client is looking for a Linux System Administrator for a full-time direct hire in Moorestown, NJ 08057.

Candidates must be vaccinated to be consider for this role.

Location: Moorestown, NJ 08057 - Partial Onsite role 3 days week; 2 days Remote
ON Call support – 1 week a month  
Salary $80K-$90k

For this position, they need to have deep knowledge of MS servers as well as Linux experience.  Some Networking and SQL Server experience are also important for this role.  

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the administrator is in charge of ensuring the smooth operation of the systems and telecommunications of the Datacenter information system. It provides application teams and/or teams with internal support and infrastructure that is reliable, robust and secure. He works under the responsibility of the head of the US Data Center Operations in a team of 4 people.

  • Min 5 + years of System Admin experience

  • Should have 3  + years of Linux Admin experience
  • Linux and Windows operating systems administration.
  • Application management experience.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Comfortable with Linux & Windows operating systems (Ubuntu, 2016+).
  • General knowledge in system and network operation (databases, application servers, virtualization...).
  • Ability to understand the principles of the hosted applications (functionalities, architecture, flows, component interaction).
  • Ability to interact with R&D and Customer Support teams (Service Centers).
  • Networking Troubleshooting

Nice to have
  • standards: PCI DSS, PA DSS, PCI P2PE , ISO 27001, SSAE 16 or 18, ISAE 3402 type I or type II.
  • Knowledge about Web server configuration.
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • Curiosity, experience or notions of a programming language (Python, Perl...).

  • Maintain the infrastructure in operational conditions, both systems (servers, storage, etc.) and applications, networks (LAN, WAN, associated hardware ...).
  • Participate actively in its monitoring and backup.
  • Guarantee its availability as well as the integrity of the data.
  • Part of the 24/7 “on call” process.
  • Maintain system health and resolve outages.
  • Manage application maintenance tasks.
  • Monitoring of key database and application components usage.
  • Application incident management (database, system, network, service, application ...).
  • Generation of alert messages in case of an incident and/or problem having an impact on one or more customers.
  • Management of the lifecycle of all problems. Prevent incidents from happening, minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented.
  • Identify, assess and control risks, analyze the value of assets of the business, identify threats to those assets. Evaluate how vulnerable each asset is to those threats.
  • Purge older data to prevent applications from having bad performance.
  • Certificate management (creation or renewal).
  • Centralization of application logs.
  • Application release; evolution / upgrade of hosted applications to be compliant with the latest version released.
  • Carry out application exploitation including accounts creation and follow-up.
  • Provision of dashboards, statistics, metrics and KPIs for applications.
  • Provide technical support to the Customer Service Centers.
  • Gather, analyze, store and share knowledge and information within DC Operations.
  • Maintenance of information about configuration items required to deliver a DCO service, including their relationships.
  • Holder of an engineering degree or higher technician with a specialization in computer science.
  • Proven experience of at least five years in a context similar to that presented.
