REMOTE: Voice Telecom Engineer (Avaya)

Our direct client is looking to hire TWO REMOTE Voice Network Engineer for a 1-year contract. 
Potential to convert to direct/permanent hire.

Must be available to work Central Time Zone
Monday-Friday (40 hour work week)
You will be working for a large, Fortune 1000 company who is based in Overland Park, KS

Demonstrates in-depth experience of Avaya On Premise PBX and Cloud communication.

Minimum five (5) years of relevant in-depth technical knowledge in areas related to platform specific systems and/or voice network operations.
• Ability to provide move, add, and change services.
• Experience with Avaya on premise PBX, cloud, and CMS voice systems.
• Experience with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)


Job Description:          


Job Summary:
Works both independently and in a team environment to perform the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of a Technical Voice Engineer Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage communication equipment, systems, and services used by the company. Performs high-level analysis, makes recommendations, implements, and supports communications in correlation with the facilitation and enhancement of day-to-day operation. Assists with the establishment of technical direction and deployment strategy of related technologies to meet team and organizational objectives. Works effectively with, while strengthening partnerships, with customers, internal support groups, and vendors. Provides guidance to others for escalated and complex issues.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates in-depth experience of Avaya On Premise PBX and Cloud communications systems and manages the functionality, capacity, reliability, availability, and recoverability of communication systems, equipment, and service.
  • Works with management, vendors, and customers to plan for, design, order and coordinate the implementation of communication systems and services between the company, our partners, and vendors.
  • High-level project management skills and has responsibility for all aspects of project management.
  • Manage and resolve high severity issues, complex problems, and outages in a timely manner using knowledge with assistance from vendors and in-house resources as needed. Shares knowledge by providing assistance to other team members and support staff.
  • Provides input and recommendations to management for identifying and prioritizing tasks and identifying objectives for project management.
  • Serves as expert technical resource to user community; knows technical details and provides information to appropriate resources on complex issues.
  • Demonstrates expert understanding when communicates and coordinates changes to the environment utilizing effective change management practices.
  • Provides rotational 24 x 7 on-call support.

III. COMPETENCIES
  • Evaluates and responds appropriately to customer issues and requests. Handles complex or high-impact issues without assistance.
  • Works proactively with support groups and customers to identify needs and develop appropriate solutions and services.
  • Identifies opportunities to utilize technology to automate and streamline processes, simplify customer interaction, and improve service deliver. Presents recommendations to management for approval.
  • Provides support for deployed technologies, systems, and processes according to established procedures and industry best practices.
  • In-Depth experience of Avaya IP telephony and VOIP terminologies technologies like H.323, SIP, and SBCs
  • Have good understanding of call flows, routing, and porting.
  • Perform support on Avaya ACD and CMS.
  • Demonstrates core competencies relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Maintains effective communications and provides leadership in sharing information across team, department, and organization.
  • May perform other job-related duties as assigned

IV. Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant in-depth technical knowledge in areas related to platform specific systems and/or voice network operations.

  • Experience with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel on all levels.

V. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of experience in senior telecommunication’s role.
  • Experience in supporting a large telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Experience with hosted voice solutions.
  • Experience with data networks and quality of service.
