As part of a cross-functional Information/Cyber Security & GRC team, the Sr Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the secure operations of all cloud environments across the client enterprise. The Sr Engineer is also responsible for implementing security solutions to mitigate risk and reduce exposure by leveraging their in-depth knowledge of the threat landscape, exploits, and vulnerabilities. In addition, this role works with the Information/Cyber Security & GRC team to analyze threat models and security requirements to ensure technology appropriately mitigates risks in the cloud. The Sr Engineer is responsible for managing multiple cloud-involved projects and staying abreast of emerging security technologies.

Years of Experience      
  • 2-4 years Related work experience
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures and web services security.
  • Designed and/or implemented security architectures in cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) environments.
  • Experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security relative to cloud.
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols (eg, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols).
  • Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
  • Experience with Office 365 global administration, architecture and development.
  • Proven experience identifying vulnerabilities, anticipate threats, and leveraging a practical approach to reduce the likelihood or impact of breach, misconfiguration, etc.
  • DevOps Experience (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes or similar) preferred.
  • Security Tool Experience (Symantec SEP, Qualys, Nessus, Tenable, Azure Sentinel, Metasploit, Elastic, Okta, Nmap, Burp Suite, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Conceptual understanding with deep knowledge in a few security subject areas and broad knowledge over multiple security subject areas and applied experience.
  • A thorough understanding of tools, policies and standards related to security systems and experience in executing incident response process and procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education to strengthen skills, broaden expertise and maintain currency with emerging technology.
  • Assist senior management in defining overall cloud security strategy
  • Must be well versed in incident management and vulnerability management.
  • Scripting / Programming skills (e.g. Python, powershell, shell scripting, web development, .NET, Java, GitHub) Preferred
