Sr. Engineering Manager - 100% REMOTE

Atrilogy’s direct client is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to join their Phoenix bases team. This is 100% REMOTE, Full-Time, Direct-Hire role.

Responsibilities  
  • Promotes a high performing business environment by building self-sufficient product teams to develop software solutions to critical business problems
  • Responsible for high level product vision and delivery and collaborates with the business to maintain the product roadmap
  • Motivates and develops staff by assessing strengths and weaknesses and providing appropriate developmental and training opportunities.  Implements successful hiring and retention practices.
  • Ensures projects are aligned with department standards by reviewing functional plans based on acceptance criteria and cost justification.
  • Approves proposed project plans and designs.  Recommends course corrections to meet changing requirements.
  • Ensures delivery of reliable high-performance applications and consumable technical services.
  • Understand development methodology: Agile Scrum and work with your team to adopt the best approach to yield optimal team productivity, innovation potential.
  • Hold postmortems and document outage impact and lessons-learned in to ensure that problems don’t repeat.
  • Maximizes the use of existing implementations to boost return on technology spend
  • Manages technology by developing departmental technology plan.  Proposes, and negotiates technology solutions in accordance with Company goals and functional guidelines.
  • Customizes and implements industry-standard best practices and develops Company best practices
  • Meets financial objectives by overseeing and managing annual budget. 
  • Protects the Company by handling business sensitive information with appropriate confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years related programming/systems analysis or system architecture experience, including management level assignments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience with full system development life cycle methods for generating business software solutions.
  • Financial / budgeting acumen
  • Ability to resolve divergent interests and make quick, effective decisions.
  • Solid understanding of the design approaches like microservices, digital and AWS technologies
  • Ability to establish development best practices like CICD, Code Quality, TDD, etc.
  • Innovative and ability to think outside the box for creative problem solving
  • Mentors and coaches’ colleague and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working in cross functional and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
