We are seeking an individual to join the Advanced Technology group -- a world class team of technologists that are shaping the wireless agenda of cable operators globally for the next decade. The wireless agenda includes Wi-Fi, 3GPP and IOT. There is a renewed interest in the USA and world-wide for quad-play services, and many of our members are already MNOs. This gives us the opportunity to re-imagine mobile networks and how they are designed and built. The individual is a senior level industry expert and highly experienced self-starter with broad experience in wireless, has leadership expertise and exceptional communication and collaboration skills, and with the strategic perspective required to influence the Cable industry’s wireless future. You will lead innovation, assemble and lead software teams, develop and prototype new innovations, and often work with outside partners to fast track market deployment. You will bring the ability to research and solve problems independently as well as collaborate in a dynamic team environment. As an innovator, you will be responsible for the invention of new ideas and the associated patent filings and publications.

 

Duties and responsibilities

As a highly skilled mobile networks and telecommunications technology leader driving innovation and delivering cost-effective, high performance technology solutions, responsibilities include:

  • Create, innovative and prototype software solutions for next generation wireless networks with a focus on leveraging Cable network assets.
  • Participate in all phases of the wireless and mobile roadmaps focused at 2 to 8 years in the future 
  • Manage programs and working groups that span multiple partners with varying fiscal, temporal, and technical constraints.
  • Understand how to leverage and integrate cable networks with mobile solutions.
Required Skills
  • Significant software development experience in the mobile or Wi-Fi space
  • C/C++ development experience including Android and IOS
  • Track record of patents and publications
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and coding experience
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in collaborative groups, solving complex problems
  • Basic working knowledge of cable systems is a plus
  • Ability to travel 20%
  • Virtual is a possibility for the right candidate
Required Experience
  • Graduate degree in CS, Computer, Physics or Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in many of these areas: 
    • LTE and 5G
    • Mobile strategies
    • Mobile network implementations
    • Network protocols
  • Familiarity with licensed and unlicensed spectrum as well as Wi-Fi technologies
