Avaya VoIP Technician

Location: Orange, CA
Atrilogy Solutions Group’s direct client in Orange, CA is searching for a Avaya VoIP Technican to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This position is responsible for assisting the Network Services Team in all aspects of Asterisk/VoIP management and engineering.
 
The Telecom/VoIP Engineer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining design, implementation, modification, and maintenance of VoIP/TDM telephony within the global enterprise.  The focus for this role will be configuration and management of Asterisk/Digium/Avaya VoIP platforms reporting to the Manager of Network Services.  The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, and excel at working with various teams.


Requirements:
 
  • Technical aptitude in an enterprise IT environment
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Telecom role
  • 3+ years of experience with Asterisk PBX
  • 3+ years of experience with VOIP
  • Experience managing phone systems in multiple offices
  • Strong understanding of phone technologies: SIP, VOIP, PRI
  • Strong understanding of network technologies: TCP/IP, Ethernet, POE, VPNs, MPLS
  • Video conferencing a plus, especially with SIP and H.323
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills and able to work in a team environment
  • BA/BS degree or comparable experience

Essential Functions:
 
  • Install, configure, upgrade and manage existing Asterisk/Digium platform
  • Working knowledge of Q-Suite contact center
  • Lead medium sized telecom projects
  • Oversee upgrades and maintenance of various phone systems (Asterisk/Cisco/Avaya)
  • Work with our network team to ensure quality and reliability of VoIP traffic
  • Train and mentor our IT Tech Support staff
  • Responsible for call routing and call redundancy
  • DID management and scaling
  • Drive vendor management for telecom services
  • Monitor voice systems and make adjustments as necessary
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues related to communication hardware or connectivity
