Business Intelligence Manager

Location: Irvine, CA
Our Client in Irvine is hiring a Business Intelligence Manager for a full time role 

The BI Manager owns the efforts of our BI and Reporting Initiatives. The BI Manager will lead business intelligence projects by facilitating the development and delivery of scalable, reliable solutions for our stakeholders to maximize customer value and business efficiency.

This individual will oversee business intelligence efforts with the ability to coach and mentor team members ensuring personal and professional successes are met. The BI Manager will collaborate with leadership across the organization to ensure expectations are aligned to delivery and interdepartmental dependencies are continuously reviewed and improved. 

The BI Manager will provide technical direction as well as implement and enforce data warehouse development and reporting standards and practices. Ideal candidates will have a progressive track record of multidisciplinary technology management in successful technology organizations. The candidate will be an effective leader and will provide mentorship and guidance in an Agile work environment. This candidate will have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a fast paced flexible environment.



Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of MS SQL developers & business analysts, and report developers
  • Lead and inspire team members supporting the organizations initiatives
  • Mentor and develop individual contributors focusing on development principles, ownership, accountability and adaptability
  • Oversee the assignment of work to team members and ensure timely delivery
  • Lead the departmental development practices and own the SDLC in an Agile environment
  • Lead reporting-related projects managing cross-functional project teams
  • Build and deliver highly scalable, reliable solutions working alongside Architecture, Infrastructure, Product, and Program Management
  • Reviews and audits both scheduled and ad-hoc reports to ensure that they are accurate, clear, timely, concise and user-friendly
  • Monitors and reviews report requests from clients in order to fully understand their needs, prioritize requests as appropriate, and make recommendations that will enhance the client experience
  • Provide leadership and guidance to enable the development and support of Tableau Dashboards
  • Manages the production of periodic daily, weekly, and monthly reports as well as ad-hoc reports to ensure timeliness, accuracy and appropriate presentation of data
  • Communicate status, risks, and offer mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery of all set expectations.
  • Promotes ongoing development of advanced analytical tools and techniques that promote the practice and advance the quality of deliverables
 
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related
  • 10+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server
  • 5+ Years working with SSIS and SSRS
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of 5 or more engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • 5+ years managing data warehouses and data marts, as well as analytics and business intelligence
  • A proven project leader able to lead cross-functional teams from across the business to accomplish defined business goals
  • Knowledge of/experience with reporting tools (Microsoft Reporting Services and/or Tableau)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to organize and present information in a clear and concise way to a variety of audiences
  • Formal Technology and Business presentation skills for multiple levels of management
  • Creative problem solver, takes a high level of initiative, has a strong sense of personal accountability to follow-through
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment
  • Healthcare industry knowledge highly preferred
