Sr. Project Manager

Location: 3814 Jarrett Way Austin, TX
Our direct client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to work within their PMO organization.  Reporting to the PMO Director, you will work to plan & deliver concurrent IT projects. Additionally, this role will be responsible maintenance of project documentation, driving results from internal/external team members, and monitoring the issues/risks/scope/budget required to a project.  Candidates should have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience, and have previous documented experience as a Manager within an established PMO.
 
Requirements: 
  • 10+ years of experience in managing complex projects and project staff within technology product engineering.
  • Essential Project Management Skills: Planning, Organization, Multitasking, Communication, Cost Management, Scope/Risk/Issue Management, Vendor Management, etc.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, train and evaluate PMO personnel, as well as the skills to turn around underperforming projects.
  • Possesses ability to stay organized and detail oriented while remaining efficient and timely.
  • Possesses strong experience with managing both applications and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management and corresponding tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Agile/Scrum Methodology experience (desired but not required).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate (oral and written) on multiple levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize/execute tasks, and manage deadlines.
  • PMP Certification desired but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science or related field of study; advanced degree preferred.
