Security Project Manager (SPM)

Location: Mountain View, CA
Atrilogy's Direct client is currently seeking an experienced Security Project Manager (SPM) in Mountain View, CA for a 6 + month contract to join our Global Security Office team, with excellent Agile background. This person will need broad exposure to multiple security technologies to assemble the right solution to challenging problems. Integration projects are complex and involve collaboration from multiple teams, with focus on quality, innovation, speed to market and teamwork. You will work closely with the team, be held responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating team members, often mentoring them, to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering outcome that provided exceptional business value in a timely manner.
In performing the role, the SPM will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability. They will be expected to be able to manage multiple projects all at different phases of their project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management – Define project scope, budget and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value as aligned to the scope, budget and schedule; organize and lead project status, working sessions, huddles; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; perform delivery planning for assigned projects and management of that backlog;
  • Team Management – Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members
  • Product (Business) Owner Support – Support the Product (Business) Owner in managing expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance
  • Process Management and Improvement – manage within the prescribed project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management
  • Team building – promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
Required Skills:
  • Proven Project Management skills with 10 years’ experience delivering complex Information Projects
  • Minimum of 7 years experience working in Cyber Security, last 5 as a Project Manager
  • Experience in development lifecycle under the agile umbrella
  • Certified scrum master or better
  • Certified in either PMI (preferably PMI-ACP) or Prince2

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience of project management in both Agile and DevOps
  • Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities
  • Experience in development lifecycle under the agile umbrella
  • Business & IT strategy experience
  • Strong facilitation skills
