Systems Engineer II

Location: Atlanta, GA
Our end client is looking for a Monitoring System Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and documenting monitoring solutions to support the technical capabilities. This candidate will need to be local and able to do a phone screen and in-person interview! This role is a 12 month engagement and will be located in the Dunwoody area. Must have solid work history, excellent communication/interpersonal skills!

Job Description:
  • Must work effectively in a fast-paced environment using excellent communication skills, both with team members and business contacts.
  • Work closely with customers to gather and understand requirements, and configure systems to ensure the customer’s needs are met.
  • Performs system installations, resolves incidents, performs data analysis, and analyzes performance.
  • Provide deployment and technical support for the system and storage infrastructure.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent complex projects and be able to coordinate work of others.
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail requirements:
 Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ year experience with network/distributed computing concepts.
  • 3+ year experience writing and maintaining scripts in multiple languages.
  • Knowledge of systems design methodologies, techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of design patterns related to technical architecture
  • Solid working knowledge of LINUX and Windows platforms
  • A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
 Preferred Qualification:
  • Knowledge of SNMP based network monitoring systems such as Solarwinds Network Monitoring. 
  • Experience with consolidated dashboards like HP BSM Monitoring Suite. 
  • Monitoring Engineer should have experience with server/application monitoring systems like HP SiteScope.
  • Preferred candidate will have some experience with application profilers such as New Relic
  • Knowledge of Synthetic user testing (KeyNote, Dynatrace Synth, VuGen).
