Project Manager

Location: Brea, CA
Our direct current client is seeking a  Project Manager for a 6 month contract to start.  Pay rate in the range of $55.00 an hour W2.  We can do either C2C (direct to candidate), 1099 or W2.  We have been working with this client for over 8 years and have a direct relationship with the hiring manager.  Looking for a PM that can bring a structured approach to project management, PMP or CSM is preferable.  Candidate will be managing software maintenance or Software Development (such as BI or B2B or other Application environments) related projects.  Someone with infrastructure background only will not be a fit.  Process will be 30 min phone interview with onsite interview for those candidates short listed.

The successful candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:
 
  • Thorough working knowledge of waterfall, iterative and agile project management methodologies
  • Strong knowledge and skills in project planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Method and project network logic diagrams
  • Strong knowledge and skills in scope, risk, issue and change management
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets
  • Deep enough technical knowledge to validate estimates and organize technical activities to appropriate roles
  • Extensive experience of managing both development projects and maintenance workflow
  • Able to manage and set expectations through constructive negotiations with business sponsors
  • Able to build and motivate teams through influencing and empowering others
  • Capable of coaching and conflict management
  • Able to manage multiple environments and projects simultaneously with a combined annual budget over $2M
  • Independently motivated and able to work through periods of ambiguity and change with a solid sense of perspective
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced meeting management skills
  • Able to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Able to adhere to a regular work schedule
  • Outstanding ability to manage the Software Development Lifecycle in a regulated environment (SOX, PCI etc. controls)
  • Highly developed skills for managing work and meeting all deadlines
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Sound knowledge of operational business systems, preferably in Insurance, Financial and Marketing

Client is looking for a Project Manager with a 4 year degree in a directly-related area such as Business Management or Computer Science and a minimum of 3 years of directly-related experience in Project Management.
 
PMP and CSM certifications are desirable.
