IAM Solutions Engineer

Location: Anaheim, CA
Our Direct Client in IAM Solutions Engineer for a Direct Hire role in Anaheim, CA.

Candidate can sit in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; or Anaheim, CA.

Description
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solutions Engineer is responsible for engineering and maintaining Identity and Access Management solutions across the enterprise. IAM Engineers develop process and technical solutions for managing the Identity, Authorization, and Authentication of all users connecting to systems, including both employee and non-employee workforce members, affiliates, joint ventures, vendors, business partners and others. Solutions will meet the business needs of the enterprise, align with security and regulatory policy, and protect the data of our employees and patients. IAM seeks to always provide only the appropriate access to each individual at the appropriate time.

The position reports to the Manager, Identity and Access Management and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in Information Services as well as with other staff, vendors, agents, and others. Essential working relationships are required with peers, IAM Operations, Enterprise Risk Management Services, Ministry Security, and others as required.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Supports and administers existing IAM technologies and systems
  • Supports, improves and documents existing IAM processes, technology, and procedures
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of IT security, compliance, and IAM concepts and technologies
  • Resolves operational technical support issues through use of documented standard operating procedures, providing timely communication of downtimes, application problems, and facilitating resolution in technical areas using language and technical details appropriate for audience
  • Works with manager or other more senior engineers to coordinate and schedule the various tasks for successfully analyzing, designing, developing, testing and implementing projects on time and within the defined project budget
  • Works with manager or other more senior engineers to automate tasks which have proven to be standard and repetitive, or where automation may remove variability and recurring human error
  • Ensures that IAM solutions meet existing IAM and Information Security policies and standards
  • Analyzes and tests performance/operational impact of new technologies, processes, and changes to existing systems, and assists in documenting the functional requirements and technical specifications for new solutions
  • Provides frontline support as part of project go-live, working with customers to support end users
  • Creates and maintains Product Specifications, Change Management Documents and additional technical documentation
  • Works in a team environment to optimize the identity management environment to ensure scalability, repeatability and reliability
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Self-starter, fast learner, and flexible to support new technologies as well as legacy solutions
  • Willingness to take initiative and overcome obstacles to achieve personal, organizational and company goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NetIQ Identity Manager.
  • Experience with Sailpoint and OKTA is a must
  • Demonstrated knowledge of directory services technologies including Active Directory and/or database technologies including SQL
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following: PowerShell, Java, C#, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated competency in resolution of operational technical support issues
  • Demonstrated ability to engineer solutions for the enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize assigned work, report progress, and escalate issues
  • A proven ability to coordinate and monitor technical activities and projects
 Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or four years related education, experience, or training in a distributed computing, healthcare, or customer service environment (or a combination education and experience).
  • Two years minimum experience in an access control/security related position that had similar primary duties in addition to education requirements
  • Formal education or training in server and/or application development, administration and optimization.
  • Experience in administration and operation of at least one Identity Management technology/system (including in-house systems or scripts).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NetIQ Identity Manager.
  • Experience with Sailpoint and OKTA is a must
  • Experience with SQL queries and application development using languages such as Java, C# or PowerShell.
  • Skilled at time management.
  • Demonstrated documentation skills – written process documents, workflows, and technical diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical skills.
